Quick answer

Understand progression and how skills are acquired

Understand XP, shared skill points, manuals, time costs, and how Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism progression works in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

One progression economy

XP can come from enemies, quests and objectives, hidden locations and secrets, special encounters, and bosses. Leveling grants skill points. The same XP bar and skill-point currency serve all three trees, so the paths can be developed independently or combined.

Swordmastery

Swordmastery manuals can be found or bought from certain fencers. The path focuses on martial precision and timing. Official material confirms short, long, and great swords, while exact techniques and numeric effects should be verified in the game.

Witchcraft

Witchcraft is a daytime discipline learned through magical manuals or scrolls found in locations or obtained from practitioners. Confirmed spell roles include offense, defence, control, damage over time, buffs, and debuffs.

Vampirism

Vampirism is tied to nighttime powers, feeding, and corruption. Increasing corruption through feeding provides access to stronger vampiric abilities, while shared skill points can be assigned to the tree. This page does not recommend an optimal corruption level.

Skill points are not the only cost

Improving an ability can require both skill points and story time. Read the shown requirement before committing. A fastest-leveling route or best build would require a separate, repeatable gameplay test rather than inference from the official progression overview.
